Landon grew up in north-central Wisconsin, spending his summers wading or canoeing down the tannin-colored rivers of the area. Armed with a St. Croix spinning rod and a Heddon Spook, his love for the visual strikes of smallmouth bass was ingrained early on. After discovering his passion for fly fishing by chasing trout in small streams, he soon realized he needed to revisit the warm-water rivers of his youth, this time with a fly rod. As he began floating these rivers from a raft, his appreciation and understanding of these waterways deepened.

 

Since then, his passion and knowledge of the river systems and the smallmouth bass that inhabit them have grown immensely. He has honed his skills in fly tying, rowing, reading water, and enticing smallmouth bass with well-presented flies. The name "Whiskey Rivers Fly Fishing" pays homage to both the whiskey-colored rivers and Landon's most loyal fishing companion, a German Shorthair Pointer named Whiskey. Landon now hopes to share and educate anglers about the wonderful warm-water fly fishing opportunities Wisconsin has to offer.
